Handy Tip: Pick regularly when the spears are well formed but before they open. Take the central spear first to encourage a lot of side shoots.

Where to Sow | Sow the seeds thinly in a well prepared seed bed. Recommended soil temperature: 15-18°C. Alternatively sow the seeds thinly in seed trays or two seeds per cell in modules under glass at 13°C. Position in full sun. |
What to do Next | Outdoor Sowings: Thin to 7-10cm apart. Transplant to final positions once plants are large enough. Glasshouse Seedlings: Prick off into trays or thin modules to one seedling per cell at first true leaves. Gradually harden off and plant out at 15cm (6") tall, spaced as above. |
