Onion - Ailsa Craig

Discover Onion Ailsa Craig, known for its large globe-shaped bulbs and mild flavour beneath golden straw-coloured skin. This variety is perfect for exhibition but should be used in early winter as it doesn't store for long periods. Onions are a staple crop for gardeners, whether you have an allotment or a home vegetable garden. Versatile and essential, they can be used in a wide range of dishes.
Handy Tip: Onions require a very fertile soil. Dig the Onion bed in the Autumn incorporating manure or compost.

Onion - Red Brunswick

Introducing Onion Red Brunswick, known for its late-maturing, semi-flat bulbs of dark red. These onions are medium to large in size, with an excellent mild but pungent flavour. Their decorative appearance, with striking red and white rings when sliced, makes them perfect for fresh salads or cooked with pasta. Onions are a versatile staple for any gardener or allotment holder, adding flavour to a wide range of dishes.
Handy Tip: Very attractive for use raw in salads. Slice across the bulbs to produce lovely red and white rings.

Onion - Spring Ishikura

Discover Onion Long White Ishikura, an RHS Award-winning Japanese bunching type of onion. This variety produces long white stalks with short green tops, which can be harvested when they are as thin as a pencil or as thick as a carrot. Resembling young leeks, these onions do not form a bulb and have a fine mild flavour, making them perfect for salads or stir-fries.
Handy Tip: Ideal for successional sowing. As a quick to mature crop, sow in between slower growing vegetables saving space.

Onion - Spring White Lisbon (Winter Hardy)

Introducing White Lisbon Winter Hardy Spring Onion Seeds, specially selected for their winter hardiness, making them perfect for autumn sowing and a spring harvest. This variety produces the same delicious spring onions as White Lisbon, with long white stems and bright green tops. The onions are slow to form a bulb and have a mild, delightful flavour, making them ideal for a variety of dishes.
Handy Tip: No need to thin, just pull when onions are young and tender.

Onion - White Lisbon

Introducing Spring Onion White Lisbon, an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner and the traditional spring onion. This variety boasts long white stems with bright green tops that are slow to form a bulb, providing a delicious mild flavour. Perfect for adding a fabulous taste to a variety of dishes, simply chop and sprinkle on your meals. Ideal for growing in pots and planters on the patio, White Lisbon should be sown from February to July. Each standard pack contains approximately 800 seeds, while larger grower packs offer around 4,000 seeds.
Handy Tip: Ideal for successional sowing, these crops are perfect for all summer harvests. Their short growing period allows them to be planted between slower-growing vegetables, maximizing your garden space and yield.

Onion - Spring Gerda

Introducing Spring Onion Gerda Seeds, a very versatile variety that can be grown all year round. Gerda features dark erect leaves and bright white shanks, with a mild onion flavour that's perfect for raw or cooked dishes. Ideal for salads, stir-fries, and a variety of culinary creations.
Handy Tip: Ideal for successional sowing.

Onion - Lilia (Salad)

Introducing Onion Lilia, an RHS Award-winning variety ideal for salads and pickling. These small onions have a beautiful shiny, intense red inner core and dark green leaves, adding a stunning splash of colour to your salads. They can also be grown as a main crop. Despite their striking appearance, Lilia onions have a delicately mild flavour.
