When to SowJanuary to April
Where to SowSow seeds in pots or trays filled with quality seed sowing compost. Ensure the seeds are placed at a shallow depth and lightly covered with either compost or vermiculite. Keep the containers under glass in a controlled environment. For best results, place them in a propagator to support healthy germination.
What to do NextOnce the seedlings are strong enough to handle, carefully transfer them into small individual pots. When they grow taller, transplant them into greenhouse border soil, larger pots, or growbags, ensuring each growbag accommodates three plants. If planting outdoors, wait until all risk of frost has passed. For best yields, provide support and regularly remove side shoots. Consistently water the plants and feed them with a high-potash fertilizer once the first truss of fruit has developed.
