Salad Leaf Corn Salad Vit (Lambs Lettuce)
Vit Corn Salad Seeds are a vigorous variety ideal for spring and autumn crops, including overwintering. These seeds yield long oval, glossy green leaves with a tender, mild minty flavour, perfect for enhancing your winter salads. 'Vit' is also mildew-resistant, making it a reliable choice for gardeners.
It is recommended to sow from August to October, and also in March. Sow thinly in prepared seed beds 0.5cm deep in rows 25-30cm apart.
Next, thin seedlings to 15cm apart, harvesting young leaves as baby salad leaves, or leave to fully mature and harvest the whole plant. Cloche protection can extend the harvest period. Harvest is from November to January.
Handy Tip: Keep plants moist during hot weather to prevent them from running to seed too quickly.
