Technical specifications
Approx. Seed count | 400 seeds |
When to Sow | Sow all year round for pea shoots. If growing as a traditional pea, sow seeds outside from April to June when the soil is warmer. |
Where to Sow | Select a seed tray or container that is 5-7cm deep. Fill it with seed sowing compost, and sow Serge pea seeds 1.5cm deep, leaving a small gap between each seed. |
What to Do Next | Place the seed tray on a windowsill or under glass and keep it moist. The crop will be ready to harvest in just 3 weeks after sowing, when the shoots are approximately 7-10cm tall. Snip off the shoots to use as a garnish. If cut correctly, these pea shoots will produce another harvest. If you are growing pea plants, you may need to support them as they grow bigger. They will produce long pods filled with sweetly flavoured peas. |
