Pea Hurst Green Shaft – RHS Award of Garden Merit
Discover Pea Hurst Green Shaft, an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner and one of the most popular varieties. This exhibition-quality pea produces heavy crops of long pointed pods, each containing around 10 peas with wonderful flavour. The plants grow to a height of approximately 60cm. When harvested young and cooked within 30 minutes, these peas retain their sweetest flavour before the sugar turns to starch.
Handy Tip: As plants grow and the crops mature, stems can become quite heavy, especially after rain. Ensure to tie the plants to the support netting for extra support.
