When to Sow | All year round |
Where to Sow | For early sowings, use pots or trays under glass, lightly covering the seed with compost. Sow at regular intervals in small pots of compost on a warm, light windowsill year-round. Alternatively, sow seeds thinly directly outdoors from April to May in finely-prepared soil. |
What to Do Next | For glasshouse sowings, prick out seedlings into individual pots or trays and grow them on under glass. Gradually harden them off in a cold frame and plant out once the risk of frost has passed. For outdoor sowings, thin seedlings gradually to provide ample spacing. Windowsill sowings can be harvested as needed. |
