When to Sow | All year round |
Where to Sow | Early sowings can be made in pots or trays under glass, lightly covered with compost. You can also sow at regular intervals in small pots of compost on a warm, light windowsill year-round. Alternatively, sow seeds thinly directly outdoors from April to May in finely-prepared soil. |
What to do Next | Glasshouse sowings can be pricked out into individual pots or trays and grown on under glass. Gradually harden them off in a cold frame and plant out once the risk of frost has passed. Outdoor sowings should be gradually thinned to provide ample spacing between plants. Windowsill sowings can be harvested as needed. |
