Welcome to summer, when all of your hard work in the garden starts to pay off, and you can enjoy the work put in over the previous months.
Now that summer has finally arrived, we can expect much warmer temperatures and long sunny days. Some days can easily reach over 25°C, so shading and watering young plants regularly on hot days is essential.
Your garden will now be a crescendo of colour, so much of the work you'll be doing is maintaining your plants, including weeding, mulching, watering, keeping an eye out for pests and deadheading - keeping on top of these jobs are vital if you want to have healthy, continuous blooms throughout the summer and well into the autumn season.
Don't forget to sit and enjoy your garden during the summer, too - gardening shouldn't be all about working hard. Why not enjoy your garden with a cup of tea on the patio in the morning or an evening meal as the sun sets; sit back, relax and admire the work you put in all those months before.
